Permian Basin Petroleum Museum
The oil and gas industries are essential to the economies of Texas and the United States, and the reason for all the skyscrapers in Midland. Exhibits include geology from the ancient Permian period, modern race cars, and enormous oil-field machinery. Plenty of exhibits and activities for all ages. Don’t forget to check out the Chaparral Museum and the art and gemstone galleries.
The I-20 Wildlife Preserve & Jenna Welch Nature Study Center
This nature preserve in the middle of West Texas is a jewel! You’ll be so glad to have found this place. There’s plenty of plenty of shade throughout the 1.5 mile trail. You’ll see beautiful greenery and maybe bobcats, bunnies, rodents, dragonflies, and so much more. Great place for a hike or a stroll.
The George W. Bush Childhood Home
A truly a unique place in American history. Home to two Presidents, two Governors and a First Lady, this remarkable 1950s restoration gives visitors a unique perspective of the Bush family and their legacy, insight into the restoration of this modest home and provides an interesting view of life in 1950s Midland.
